Who is Graphic Elements?
There are just some people in this world who you instantly form a connection and bond with, and that can definitely be said about myself and Nadia from Graphic Elements. From the very first interaction we had, it was as if a spark ignited, leading to a remarkable and effortless friendship that I adore deeply. We became quick mutuals online, and since that moment, we have been engaging in delightful discussions about books, life experiences, and our shared passions. When we first came into contact, I did not initially realize that she was a graphic designer, which made my intrigue for her personality even more profound. I was instantly enthralled by the down-to-earth and upbeat positivity that she exuded through her postings. Her words radiated warmth and friendliness, making it easy to feel like I had known her for much longer than we had actually interacted. It was refreshing to encounter someone who could convey such genuine enthusiasm and joy in their online presence, which often feels lacking in the digital world.
The moment I discovered her background in graphic design, my admiration for her grew exponentially, and I became hooked on her creativity, as well as, unique perspective of visual storytelling. Her ability to blend aesthetics with meaningful concepts is truly inspiring. I find myself eagerly anticipating her posts, as they not only showcase her artistic talents but also invite thoughtful interest into the world of cover design. Nadia's insights into the design process and her reflections on various projects have added additional layers to our conversations, allowing us to explore not just the technical aspects of her work, but also the emotional and conceptual thoughts that shape her creations. This connection has blossomed into a mutual appreciation for each other's interests and fostered a friendship that goes beyond simple social media interaction. Each exchange leaves me feeling interested and eager to interact and learn more, as we both navigate our own respective journeys of life and of creativity.
The Interview
Chapter Chirp: Tell me a little bit about yourself and how you decided to become a graphic designer?
Graphic Elements: Hello. My name is Nadia, I'm 34 years old and I live in Greece. Online I use the name Luna mostly, yeah, a book tok girl who loves werewolf romance! That's me xD Anyway, how I decided to become a graphic designer, well I used to make handmade books and I wanted the pages inside to be custom made and not just lines so that's what started my journey. I liked it so much that I was able to bring to life (well on paper) what me or others had in their minds that, I changed my course of studies and went to a designer's school to get my degree. Now, I work as one in a big printing company and my main job is to design covers and print books!
Chapter Chirp: Can you share how your design process works (what steps you take, what software or tools you might use)?
Graphic Elements: Ohh, you really want to enter my chaotic process and line of thinking and imagining. Hehe. Well, I start with an idea of something that comes to my head, due to something I read or heard. Then, I start gathering the items, I will need for it, elements to be able to combine all together and bring to life that idea. Nothing AI though. Everything, needs to be combined and merged together for the design or created from the beginning. I use the adobe suite, illustrator and photoshop.
Chapter Chirp: What is your favorite thing to design (i.e: book covers, characters, etc) and why?
Graphic Elements: My favorite thing to design is book covers! Since I love books so much, I like the idea of making people interested in the cover along with the inside of the book! Cause, who doesn't want a beautiful cover on their bookshelves? Unfortunately, I can't draw characters yet but it's a skill I want to learn!
Chapter Chirp: Could you share some examples of your work to give prospective authors an idea of your style?
Graphic Elements:
Chapter Chirp: Do you have any openings for commissions, what types of designs do you offer, and how can people get into contact with you?
Graphic Elements: Yes, I'm all open for commissions. And mostly I offer book covers, either for e books or paperback. People can contact me through my account on Instagram @graphic.ele or my email: graphic_elements@outlook.com
