A pastel-colored drawing book titled "How to Draw Cute Stuff" lies on a marble table with glasses and a newspaper. Cute illustrations on cover.

When I tell you I was over-joyed to win this book, I assure you I am not even joking. The sheer excitement that coursed through me upon receiving the news was palpable. Not only was I thrilled to snag a book that my kiddo would undoubtedly enjoy, but it was also a treasure that we could dive into and relish together as a team. This aspect of shared experience is what makes it all the more special. We come from a family rich in artistic inclination, where creativity flows like a vibrant river through our everyday lives, so this book was truly right up our alley.

The idea of sitting down with my child, flipping through the pages of this delightful book, and discussing the illustrations it contains fills me with warmth. My child and I frequently engage in drawing sessions, both collaboratively and individually, which has become a cherished routine in our household. It is a hobby that transcends age and skill level, allowing even those who might not consider themselves particularly artistically gifted to find joy and fulfillment in the creative process. Art, to me, is not solely about the end product or how polished the final piece looks; it is much more about the journey we embark on while creating. The act of drawing together fosters communication, imagination, and a sense of connection that is invaluable. If you're having fun doing something, then who really cares if it comes out looking professional or not? The laughter we share, the imaginative stories we concoct as we draw, and the way we inspire each other to try new techniques are what truly matter.

In our family, we celebrate every squiggly line and splash of color as a testament to our creativity and expression. Winning this book has not only provided us with new material to explore but has also reinforced the importance of nurturing our artistic spirits and the bonds we create through shared experiences. We have encountered many joyful afternoons spent together, exploring the pages of this book and letting our imaginations run wild.

The Review

“How to Draw Cute Stuff: A Step-by-Step Drawing Guide for Kids” by Catherine V. Holmes is an absolutely adorable drawing guide for kids and adults alike. The drawings are broken down into simplistic steps that even the most non artistic person can follow easily. There’s tons of variety in what you can learn to draw. My kiddo and I have been enjoying this book since it arrived and our favorite section is the kawaii pictures. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a sweet gift idea for the budding artists in their lives or anyone who needs a fun and easy way to pass the time.
