This was the first ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) that I have read where I was actually invited to become a street team member. I was super excited and to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect since I had never been part of a street team before. The concept being somewhat new to me made me a bit anxious at first but after a while I slowly fell into the groove of the whole process. I will also say, that looking back on the experience, I was pleasantly surprised with being on this street team as a whole. I really enjoyed myself, I had fun not only reading but also posting as well.
From the onset, I found myself surrounded with a group of fellow book enthusiasts. I was able to meet a bunch of new people, on Instagram through the team chat. This interaction was not only enjoyable but also enlightening, as it allowed me to connect with individuals who shared my passion for reading and reviewing. Each member brought their unique perspectives and insights, which made our discussions lively and engaging. We exchanged thoughts about the book, shared favorite quotes, and even shared individual artistic expressions through graphics and posts. Our team was pretty laid back, which contributed to a relaxed atmosphere and made it easy for everyone to contribute at their own pace.
This flexibility allowed me to participate without feeling overwhelmed, as I could engage with the content and the team discussions whenever I had the time. I appreciated that we were encouraged to be ourselves and share our genuine reactions to the book rather than being pressured to meet specific posting quotas or adhere to strict guidelines. As the days went by, I found myself looking forward to reading through our team chat and the interactions that unfolded. The experience not only deepened my appreciation for the book itself, but also enhanced my understanding of the broader community of readers and the role that street teams play in supporting authors. Overall, being a part of this street team turned out to be a really rewarding experience, one that I hope to replicate in the future with other books and authors. Continue reading to find out why I absolutely loved this book and why author Megan Bowen has gained me as a lifelong reader.
The Review
Newly single mom, Summer Evans, is trying to figure out what life looks like following the break-up with her daughter’s father Jared. Feeling like she’ll never get better than her ex, she all but feels like giving up on love. That is, until one day hunky Ryan Garrett walks into her job at the bank and the electric spark between the two is palpable. Things get difficult when a series of unforeseen events occur between Summer, the two men, and her daughter Emma. I adored the characters in this story. There are a few scenes with Summer’s bestie Stephanie, who is an absolute girl’s girl, the kind of friend every woman wishes they had. Ryan, the swoon-worthy stud who clearly knows how to treat a woman right. Then Summer, a goddess in her own right who hasn’t ever been treated like the queen she is but begins realizing her worth and what she deserves. This story has sweetness, spice, and even a few laughs in between. To me, this was a cozy small-town romance that I just didn’t want to put down. Also high points for body positivity, highly recommend!
