The Review

“This Time It’s Love” was sexy and soulful. The story follows two perspectives, one Jaxon Hart, a skilled musician who is known for being a ladies man and the other, Hadassah “Dash” St. James, a widow and charter school founder and principal. Both Jaxon and Dash were likable main characters each in their own ways, they could both at times be frustrating when reverting back to old habits and in the way they handled certain situations. Of course, this also made the characters feel real because they weren’t perfect which is human nature.

I loved that the storyline had a multitude of emotions that it brought the reader through including love, grief, laughter, loss, and even some spicy romance scenes. The only minor downside I saw to the story was the length of the book, and that Mila’s character was twelve but she came across as much younger than her age. Overall though, I enjoyed reading this book and I will definitely be seeking out more stories by Taccara Martin and I always appreciate the chance to check out an author I’m unfamiliar with, thank you.
