"Trespassers"

If you've been following me for a while you'll know that I've become a fast fan of Áine Greaney, not only as an author but also as a person. You may have seen me mention this author in one article or another, so maybe you may already decided to seek out her work or even checked out her website. If you still have not done so yet, I would like to once again encourage you to do so as I just loved this book. The stories were diverse yet had a few distinct connections. There were stories that left my jaw on the floor and stories that had me feeling heartbreak. If you enjoy short stories, I believe you'll appreciate these tales. The Review

"Trespassers" by Áine Greaney is a collection of short stories that float between the landscapes of Ireland and coastal Massachusetts. Readers will find that these settings while vastly different, play a vital role in shaping not only the narratives but also the lives of the women. The narrative of each story focuses on women at different stages of life while dealing with feelings of dislocation and confronting challenging situations head on. The first story however, uniquely features a male protagonist, yet it aligns with the others as he also must accept life's realities. While I wish I could choose a favorite story or stories from the collection, I simply cannot as I genuinely enjoyed each story for different reasons. I was quite fond of the protagonists and the stories, that while short remained rich in depth and character. The women portrayed demonstrate patience, persistence, and extraordinary resilience even in the toughest circumstances that I believe will resonate with readers. This is a collection worth reading and its stories will linger long after readers have finished them.
